Xiaopeng Shen is Chief Underwriter & Head of Claims for RGA’s operations in Hong Kong and Southeast Asia. He joined RGA in 2019 and has served in several roles, including Executive Director, Regional Underwriting, and Head of Digital Underwriting – Asia.
Xiaopeng has more than 25 years of experience in insurance underwriting and operations. He previously served as a chief underwriter and chief operational consultant for Swiss Re China and held key positions in Gen Re and China Life. Xiaopeng also has deep experience in re/insurance markets throughout Japan and India.
Xiaopeng obtained a bachelor’s degree in clinical medicine from Southeast University in Nanjing, China, and an MBA from Nanjing University. Before joining the insurance industry, he served as a surgeon for two years at a tertiary hospital outside Nanjing. Xiaopeng is a Fellow of the Life Management Institute (FLMI) and the Academy of Life Underwriting (FALU). He was the 2011 recipient of the Charles A. Will Award from the Academy of Life Underwriting, which recognizes Fellows who achieve the highest scores on all ALU exams.
