As Vice President and Senior Actuary, Experience Studies Analytics, and Chief Data Officer, U.S. Individual Life, Derek Kueker is responsible for leading the data strategy efforts for RGA's U.S. Individual Life division. Prior to his current role, he served in a similar capacity at RGAX, a wholly-owned subsidiary of RGA Reinsurance Company focused on developing new business innovations. Derek sets objectives and strategies for optimizing the value of data assets.
Derek previously led RGA’s Experience Studies team. In this role, he was responsible for all internal and external experience studies. He also assisted RGA’s U.S. pricing team with assumption setting and client benchmarking and worked in RGA’s U.S. valuation department. Before joining RGA, Derek served at MetLife in asset-liability matching, dividend scale setting, and experience studies.
Derek is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and serves on the Society of Actuaries (SOA) Entrepreneurial Actuaries Section Council. He is also the president of the St. Louis Actuaries Club. Active in his field, Derek is a regular presenter at industry events, co-authored the SOA research paper, “Report on the Lapse and Mortality Experience of Post-Level Premium Period Term Plans (2014),” and has contributed to many other industry publications.
