RGA’s ROSEBUD Program Receives NCQA Accreditation for the Second Time
MINNEAPOLIS, April 3, 2019 – RGA Reinsurance Company, a subsidiary of leading global life and health reinsurer Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated, today announced that it has received another three-year accreditation from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for RGA’s ROSEBUD® Perinatal and Neonatal Case Management programs. This is the second consecutive NCQA Case Management accreditation ROSEBUD has earned.
“We are so proud to once again receive the three-year accreditation from NCQA acknowledging the high quality of the ROSEBUD case management program,” said Barbara Clay, Vice President Medical Management, RGA. “We work diligently to provide our clients with dedicated support from expert perinatal and neonatal nurse consultants, and we are pleased that our commitment to performance and compliance with the NCQA standards is being recognized.”
NCQA Accreditation standards are purposely set high to encourage organizations to continuously enhance their quality.
“Case Management Accreditation moves us closer to measuring quality across population health management initiatives,” said Margaret E. O’Kane, President, NCQA. “Not only does it add value to existing quality improvement efforts; it also demonstrates an organization’s commitment to the highest degree of improving the quality of their patients’ care.”
ROSEBUD case management is a key area of the RGA ROSE® Consulting Group, a medical management consulting program. RGA ROSE clients receive complimentary case management including an array of industry-leading services and resources to manage complex claims, enhance operational efficiency, and improve patient care. Since 1985, ROSEBUD’s skilled perinatal and neonatal nurse consultants have helped health plans improve health outcomes and reduce costs associated with high-risk pregnancies and infants through dedicated case management. As an example, today ROSE released its NICU Cost Containment Guide to help clients implement strategies to effectively manage NICU claims and contain costs. NICU care for medically complex infants is one of the largest cost drivers for most health plans. ROSEBUD also offers a NICU Levels of Care training for case management and utilization management staff.
