RGA Recognized for Board Diversity by Women's Forum of New York
ST. LOUIS, Nov. 10, 2021 – Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated (NYSE: RGA), a leading global life and health reinsurer, today announced the Women’s Forum of New York has again recognized RGA for the company’s role in advancing gender parity in the boardroom at its sixth biennial Breakfast of Corporate Champions (BCC). The Women’s Forum of New York honors S&P 500 and F1000 companies with at least 35% of board seats held by women.
“Our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion starts at the very top of our organization, and I am proud to serve on a board and lead a company that understands the immense value diversity brings,” said Anna Manning, President and Chief Executive Officer, RGA. “As a global company, we are fully committed to providing an inclusive workplace that respects and embraces people from all backgrounds. We understand the importance of fostering an environment where individuals are able to share their experiences and ideas, where learning is encouraged, and where everyone feels accepted and supported in their differences.”
“We salute RGA for their impressive success to achieve greater gender balance in their corporate boardroom,” said BCC Founder and Chair, Janice Reals Ellig, CEO, The Ellig Group. “As part of the Women’s Forum of New York’s ongoing “Corporate Board Initiative,” we are proud to honor RGA as an important member of the 2021 class of Corporate Champions who are determined to lead the way.”
This recent recognition from the Women’s Forum does not stand alone. The 2020 Women on Boards organization has also recognized RGA as a Winning “W” Company due to the high representation of women on the RGA Board of Directors compared to the broader financial services sector.
RGA has a long-standing commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion across the organization. Anna Manning is a signatory to CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™, the largest CEO-driven business commitment to advance diversity and inclusion within the workplace, as well as the Inclusive Insurance Pledge to welcome people from diverse backgrounds as insurance consumers and employees.
RGA is also committed to ensuring equal pay for equal work and ensuring the company’s compensation practices are equitable, regardless of gender or race.
“While we are committed to supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion, we understand our work is far from over,” added Manning. “We pledge to continue working to make tangible progress as an organization and take actions that reinforce our values.”
