Reinsurance Group of America named "Life Reinsurance Company of the Year" at The Review Worldwide Reinsurance Awards
ST LOUIS, September 3, 2009 – Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated (NYSE: RGA) has been named “Life Reinsurance Company of the Year” at The Review Worldwide Reinsurance Awards, presented last night at a gala awards celebration at The Dorchester in London, England. This is the third time RGA has received this award in the last six years.
The annual Worldwide Reinsurance Awards are adjudicated by a distinguished judging panel of insurance and reinsurance leaders. Greg Dobie, editor of The Review - Worldwide Reinsurance, said, “RGA was recognized by the judging panel for its ability to work closely with clients on a wide variety of industry issues.” Dobie said the panel was impressed by RGA’s innovative approach to the market including its new product development capabilities, pricing models and electronic underwriting tools.
“This award is external recognition of RGA’s relentless efforts to provide our clients with outstanding service, innovative products and superior global life reinsurance expertise,” said Greig Woodring, President and Chief Executive Officer, Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated.
In addition to this honor, in 2009, RGA was named “Best Overall Life Reinsurer” in the Flaspöhler Cedant Survey (Life - North America) and “Australia and New Zealand Reinsurer of the Year” by the Australia and New Zealand Insurance Industry Awards. RGA was also recognized as “Life Reinsurer of the Year” by the Asia Insurance Industry Awards in late 2008.
