Michele M. Bang is an experienced board director and senior corporate executive with more than 30 years of global asset management, capital markets and insurtech experience. She is the former Deputy CEO of Eastspring Investments, the asset management arm of Prudential plc. with more than $220 billion under management. Prudential plc provides life and health insurance and asset management to customers across 24 markets in Asia and Africa.
During her time with Prudential, Michele drove Eastspring’s double-digit growth by expanding its global client base. She concurrently led digital innovation and technology integration across the company’s insurance and asset management businesses. She was also the founding chair of Prudential Corporation Asia’s Diversity & Inclusion committee.
Prior to her role with Prudential, Michele held senior leadership roles and board seats in Asia for Deutsche Asset Management (DeAM). As CEO of DeAM’s Asia-ex Japan operations, she led the growth of its active, passive, and alternative investments strategies. In 2011, AsianInvestor named her among the Top 25 Most Influential Women in Asset Management in Asia Pacific.
Michele spent the first 15 years of her career at JPM Chase (formerly Manufacturers Hanover Trust and Chemical Bank) and Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, providing financial market solutions to insurance and pension fund clients in Asia Pacific. She is currently active in new economy innovation as an investor, judge, and advisor to entrepreneurs in the health, education, and fintech space.
Michele holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from Cornell University.
She was named to RGA’s board in 2023.
